The Real Proposal™ is a broad-based, lifestyle magazine that takes a holistic approach to the all-inclusive issues surrounding relationships. It is neither “fluff” nor a “wedding planner.” Our slogan, “Beyond White Lace & Promises,” is a reflection of our objective to explore the spectrum of issues and the resulting relationships that arise from dating, nesting, parenting, divorce, and, yes, sex, while recognizing that there are myriad social and political issues that must be examined carefully and presented with the kind of objectivity that is unencumbered by overzealous religiosity.
While the ideal of “conscious marriage”— the desired outcome of purposeful decisions that promote a healthy marriage relationship—is key, The Real Proposal™ recognizes that marriage is not for everyone. Neither is it a guarantee of happiness. Certain relationships are better off terminated for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of everyone involved. Therefore, it is also committed to sound guidance through the separation process and on rebuilding life thereafter, if that happens to be the best option.
Our mission is to provide an interactive medium of empowerment, which engenders dialogue and promotes greater understanding of relationships at individual, familial and societal levels on issues that are relevant when contemplating stable, long-term commitments, especially those, which, if left unresolved, could lead to separation.
Toward this end, we hope:
